IPL - Indian Premier League 2013
The Indian Premier League 2013 tournament is set to begin on April 3rd this year and finish up on May 26. There are a lot of fans all over the world who are anxiously awaiting for the games to begin. Established by the board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 2007, this is the sixth year of the tournament, which is why some have started calling it IPL 6.
Teams and Players
Here is a look at the nine teams that will be playing this year along with some star players to watch.
Chennai Super Kings - Coach Stephen Fleming (New Zealand) and Captain MS Dhoni are prepared to take this team all the way this year. There are a total of 33 players on the team, with 11 being overseas players.
Delhi Daredevils - Captain Mahela Jayawardene and Coach Eric Simons want to take their team of 26 players with 11 overseas players to the final game, emerging victorious. There is a lot to do to make that dream a reality, but they are ready.
Sunrisers Hyderabad - The team captain has not been announced yet, but the Coach Tom Moody wants The team is replacing the Deccan Chargers, and is based out of Hyderabad, India.
Kings XI Punjab - Coach Darren Lehmann and Captain Adam Gilchrist are excited to be in the IPL 2013 tournament and are prepared to show what they have when it comes to skill, talent, and having what it takes to win it all.
Kolkata Knight Riders - With Captain Gautam Gambhir and Coach Trevor Bayliss from Australia, this team of 21 players with 9 overseas players is ready to defend their title after winning IPL 2012.
Mumbai Indians - Captain Sachin Tendulkar and Coach John Geoffrey Wright are sure they have what it takes to make it to the final game with their team of 28 players with 11 overseas players.
Pune Warriors India - With Michael Clarke as captain and Pravin Amre as Coach, this team of 33 players and 11 overseas players is ready to break out and take it all the way, winning IPL 2013. Interesting to note is that they are relatively new, joining IPL in 2011 for the first time.
Rajasthan Royals - Rahul Dravid is the captain while Monty Desai is acting as coach of this team of 21 players with 11 overseas players. The team won the very first IPL tournament, but they haven't done as well since.
Royal Challengers Bangalore - Captain Virat Kohli and Coach Ray Jennings are ready to take their 33 players and 10 overseas players all the way to win IPL 2013. The team was started by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and has been backed by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
